Navman Transducers

Navman, established in 1986 as New Zealand-based Talon Technology, is a leading manufacturer of world-class marine electronics and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.  They provide a diverse range of navigation technologies across wide ranging industries.

Navman is one of the manufacturers to offer a comprehensive product range that supports both Palm and Pocket PC operating systems as well as the Windows platform, with products such as the GPS clip on jackets for the worlds leading handheld PDA manufacturers.
Navman also offers a range of transducers that measure depth, speed, and temperature.  Choosing the right sonar or depth transducer is very vital as it is considered to be the ‘eyes and ears’ of your fishfinder or depth sounder. .

The ultrasound waves are almost totally reflected at the boundary between water and air (i.e. the surface). Hence a key to good transducer performance is to position it below the surface and in bubble free water.

Navman has Hull Design, Through Hull Transducers, Transom Mount Transducers, and In-Hull (shoot through) Transducers (depth only).

Confused as to which Transducer you need?

Use the Transducer selection chart as your guide. By knowing your Fish Finder brand, mounting style and plug type you will know instantly our recommendation for the transducer you should buy.

Note: In general we prefer Airmar transducers. They are high quality (often better than the fish finder brand option) and are priced well.

Hi I have a navman 6600 and want to fit a 1kw transducer until I purchase a Furuno later in the year.. Do you have a plug adaptor that is suitable for both? And What benefit will I see with the navman for the meantime... Also what is the best transom mount transducer for the job... Cheers

The Airmar TM258 will be the best transom mounted transducer for the job. Unfortunately, there is no unit that will work with both the Navman and the Furuno. In other words this means that when you get your new Furuno you will have to get a new transducer as well. The plugs are vastly different and will not plug into each other’s units. You can find the Airmar TM258 here: www.marine-deals.co.nz/.../
